Allocation Troubleshooting
Why can't I hold the space from an allocation?
There are several reasons why you may be unable to hold space from an allocation in Tourplan, and the cause is often related to availability settings, booking rules, or system configuration. In many cases, the allocation may be fully used, outside the valid release period, inactive, or not correctly set up for a product, date, or rate. Restrictions such as on request flags, minimum or maximum booking rules, channel permissions can also prevent the hold from being completed. Understanding these common constraints can help quickly identify whether the issue is inventory-related, rule-driven, or permission-based, and guide you toward the appropriate resolution.
There are several factors that can stop you from holding space from allocation.
Check in following order:
-
Does the agent have the relevant allocation split assigned?
-
Does the booking status allow allocation to be held?
-
Does the service status allow allocation to be held?
-
Is the service date inside release period?
-
Does the booking header field 'Allotment' contain text not relating to the allocation split code?
