Min Max Pax Conditions

Can I apply mimumum or maximum passenger conditions?

Yes, in Tourplan v2.5 non accommodation product and non-accommodation packages can have a minimum and maximum passenger number applied within product policies. Pax Policy fields offer to apply booking conditions when suppliers have a minimum and/or maximum passenger count to book their service.

Overview

Pax policy fields are defined to hide, or show product using policy conditions, reducing the risk of booking a service in error - for too little or too many people. Product search results return rates when minimum / maximum Pax Policy rules are met within a booking, if the number of passengers in a booking isn't enough or exceeds the maximum passenger numbers in the product will not show in the service search.

This article will help you to:

  • Understand the Pax Policy feature.

  • Apply Minimum/Maximum Pax Policy rules for non-accommodation product.

Create Non-Accommodation Pax Policies

  1. Create or Open a Non-Accommodation Product, Open Product > Setup > Product Details > Policies.

  2. Select the Product Level Radio Button.

  3. Enter Pax Policy fields.

  4. Click Save.

NOTE: When a new product is created, the Pax Policy values default to zero. This allows non-accommodaiton services to insert into bookings with no minimum or maximum passenger restrictions.

Pax Policy fields can be enabled for one or both conditions. If Minimum values are entered and Maximum values are 0 - the system applies minimum passenger rules and there are not restrictions on the maximum number of passengers.

If Pax Policies are required enter the minimum / maximum number of:

  • Adults permitted in the Minimum Adults column.

  • Adults plus children permitted in the Minimum Maximum With Children column.

  • Adults plus children and/or in infants permitted in the Minimum / Maximum With CHD and INF column.

Minimum and Maximum Example

The product policies for this example have minimum and maximum Pax Policy values applied.  The minimum number of passengers (including children and infants) is 10 passengers, and the Maximum number of passengers (including children and infants) is 30. The service is therefore restricted to bookings with a group of 10-30 passengers.
