Auto Messaging Explained

Auto Messaging is a feature which can be enabled in Tourplan. It provides a seamless workflow for your users whereby messages will automatically send on service status changes. There are a few steps involved when configuring this functionality in Tourplan.

You will need to ensure you have message templates configured for the different supplier messages required. We also advise planning of service status triggers and message content required for all workflow statuses you organisation intends to use when processing supplier messaging correspondence.

Once your planning is complete there are a number of steps involved to setup Auto Messaging including:

  • turning on Auto Messaging enabling additional field requirements

  • setting up the Service Status codes for Message Defaults

  • defining Message Default settings for the Service Types using Auto Messaging

  • defining Next Service Status fields per Message Template

NOTE: There is no requirement for all service types to be enabled. You may have a particular workflow where this feature is not required; you even may not require all products using a particular service type to engage with this workflow. Tourplan allows specific product and services to be individually configured so that auto messaging features are overridden and therefore will not be applied. This feature is useful when it is necessary for a different messaging workflow to be put in place for these product/services.

We have a course available on setting up Auto Messaging. Please speak with your Local Tourplan Office.
