How do I view the markup applied in a booking?

If the Discount Commission Matrix is used, you can enable columns in a booking itinerary view which will identify the Dis/Mup Sequence Number and Dis/Mup Code used. This can help with firstly identifying if a Dis/Mup rule has applied a discount or markup to the service.

From there you could also check:

• The product rate, to see if a markup % is applied to the rate.

• The Agent markup, to see if a markup % is applied to the debtor used in the booking.

• The booking markup, to see if a booking markup is applied.

Some caution needs to be taken in identifying where the markups may have compounded on each other affecting your selling price… and there is one more factor to consider - Markups and Commissions amounts can be manually manipulated within a booking.

• control measures within Tourplan Securities which can define selected users or a group of users with the ability to manipulate a booking using the Update Markup Commission override features;

• features within Tourplan to see booking amendments through a tool called View Change History. Information within this tool includes who amended the booking; when; and what details were amended (if users are enabled to use this feature).
